Sure, Ireland is beautiful but there is so much more to see! We asked 3 of our international members to share their favourite trails from their home countries. So whether you’re in need for a little hiking inspiration or need a mental holiday from uni – this post is for you!
Rosa (Mexico)
Mexico’s mountain ranges, jungles and beautiful coastlines make the country an excellent hiking destination! Keep in mind though that it’s best to visit during the dry season, which runs from October to May. It’s hard to pick only one favourite hiking trail, but If I had to choose I’d probably say Paso de Cortes. The trail runs between two impressive Volcanoes, Popocatépetl and Iztaccihuatl, which makes for spectacular views. Because of the altitude it’s not a route for beginners but if you’re up for the challenge it’s definitely worth it!

Kim (Germany)
I guess most people are familiar with the German Alps. However, if you are looking for a more unique hiking experience, I would suggest to travel to Saxon Switzerland National Park! It’s located in the Eastern part of Germany, roughly four hours from Dresden. The enchanted countryside makes you feel like you’re placed in the middle of one of Grimm’s Fairy tales. There are hiking trails for all levels of experience – so what are you waiting for?

Yse (France)
Keen to see the highest peak in Europe? Then you should take a trip to France and explore the area around The Mont Blanc (4,810m). Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a pro climber to enjoy the scenery. Sure, if you want to make it all the way to the top you need to be extremely experienced and should book a guide. However, there are numerous accessible hiking trails as well. One of my favourite is the Tour du Mont Blanc. It covers 170 kilometres, with many starting points to choose from. You can even go on multi-day trips and spend the night in a traditional alpine-style guest house.

Go explore the world and tag us in your pictures.
